Get extra milage out of your hybrid with a solar roof

With gas prices at an all time high it is beginning to become more alluring for people to trade in their gas guzzling Hummers and start driving around in a hybrid. In fact, it seems that it’s becoming somewhat cool in place Los Angeles to be the owner of a hybrid.

If you are already the owner of a Toyota Prius or are in the market for one, here is some additional incentive for you to purchase one; The SEV Solar Roof Module.

The solar panel fits on all Toyota Prius models from 2004-2006 and it will keep your car driving for an extra 20 miles each day as long as you let it soak up some sun.

The company says that one goal of the SEV system is, “ to reduce fuel consumption and our dependence on foreign oil imports and is a hedge against the continual rising cost of gasoline.”

The price is not currently stated anywhere. However, the company says that it will pay for itself within a couple of years.

There are panels made for other cars too. Check out the product page here.
