Losing your luggage while traveling is terrible, especially when you find out it’s been lost at the destination away from your home. The Trace Me luggage tracking system is a brilliant idea to help you track down your bag. If you’ve ever lost your bag(s), you’re probably jumping up and down with excitement over this product.
The baggage tags do not use GPS or any sort of wireless electronic tracking system. Instead, the tags feature an exclusive barcode and serial number that are registered in the Immobilise database with your contact information. In the event that your suitcase does actually go missing, you have two options. You can either give the baggage-handling agent the barcode to scan or the serial number to enter in. This will provide them with your contact info. Once the airline has identified you, a text message is sent to your cell phone informing you that your bag has been located and it tells you what you should do next to retrieve it.
The durable tags are somewhat cheap, costing only $24. Right now this tag is only for residents of the UK but the Immobilise website states that it will soon be available in the United States.

Our unique registration and recovery service provides a strong, durable tag for your luggage with an individual serial number and 2D bar code linked for life to your registration details on a secure data storage system used by law enforcement agencies, airport baggage handling organisations and lost property services across the globe.
The Trace Me Luggage Tracker tag, although born here in the UK, is very much a global product and works anywhere in the world. We ship tags to Australia, Singapore, Thailand, the US, all of Europe - anywhere you travel the tag will protect your luggage.
