Why on earth would a company make this product? It seems logical to assume that the majority of people confined to a wheelchair cannot make use of their legs and may possibly have a hard time pedaling. Well, British wheelchair attachment company Speedy has disregarded common sense and felt it necessary to start producing the Pedalofit. This attachment gives any wheelchair a third wheel and it has seven speeds along with handlebars and hand brakes.
Speedy does make other wheelchair accessories that do make a bit more sense. Such as an electric variation of this.

Makes perfect sense.
There are many older people who can’t stand for long periods or can’t ride a bike due to balance issues, who would be able to use a device like that and have some sense of mobility. It would also help to give them a good cardio workout. It’s all in how you look at it so try to look at things with an open mind instead of such a narrow viewpoint and you will be able to understand much more around you.
I fully understand. I have a back that will not allow standing or walking for any distance, but I have very strong legs and can put most people behind me on a bike. It would be an excellent way to maintain cardiopulmonary health.
My husband is in a wheelchair but still can use a bike that looks like this and ride 30 miles a day. He has a balance problem that makes him unable to walk, but not unable to use his muscles. So, yes, it does make sense.
